Another ship of Bashundhara floats on water 

DHAKA: MV Bashundhara Logistics-31, constructed by Bashundhara Steel and Engineering Ltd (BSEL), was floated on Buriganga River in city's Keraniganj on Sunday noon.

The ship was floated on the water after bringing it from Bashundhara Shipyard, sister concern of country's leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group (BG).

The ship will be handed over to the owner Bashundhara Cement on April 10.

United Naval Architect designed the ship that is 72 meter long, 13.5 meter wide and 4.7 meter deep. The ship was approved by RINA, International Shipping Classification and Certification Body.

RINA acts as a technical, economic, legal reference point for shipping operators (ship owners, terminal operators, port authorities, ship-finance companies) providing market analysis, planning, feasibility, organization, technical advisory, due diligence, debt assessment and project financing services.

RINA is supervising constructions of all ship building in Bashundhara Steel and Engineering Ltd (BSEL).

BSEL official said young engineers and working groups are working in the company efficiently than others and they would construct more 11 ships by this year.

The Bashundhara Steel and Engineering Shipyard was established in Katuail of Keraniganj in 2002.

With the slogan ‘Building Ship for Mankind, Making Future of the Nation', BSEL started its journey in 2002 with the construction of sand shippers. Gradually the organization created its strong position in the sector.

The organization has already manufactured 34 sand carrier ships and 13 dredgers and exported three dredgers to Nigeria.
